In 2011 the “woodwind quintet of the Staatskapelle Berlin”, one of the most outstanding ensembles of it’s kind, led by Gregor Witt, solo oboist of the Staatskapelle, made an excursion into the world of jazz and ragtime music. Together with three jazz musicians they recorded pieces from George Gershwin,  Paquito d’Rivera and Scott Joplin, but also from contemporary composers like Frank Raschke, Benjamin Köthe and Austrian composer Augustin Lehfuss.
